Ensure the sizes of the axle and the rear seal are correctly matched. There are two different rear oil seal sizes included in the Durahub Installation Kit (Holden® and Ford®). These are the two most common rear seals for shafts. If your shaft size is different to the seals included in the kit, ensure that the correct oil seal size is used. It must have a metal casing and a spring garter.

Apply a small bead of Loctite® sealant around the outside circumference of the seal casing. Install the rear bearing, followed by the correct seal into the rear of the hub using a small block of wood and a nylon hammer. Wipe any excess sealant. Repeat on the other hub.

7
Paint the surface of the shaft with grease where the rubber of the rear seal will sit to ensure a lubricated sealing surface. This will reduce the chance of rust on the axle moving to the rear seal area.
